We caught up with Josh, the Area Manager, to chat about what makes Anytime Fitness unique and his favourite things about Clarkston!
How did Anytime Fitness start in Clarkston?
“Anytime Fitness opened in Clarkston on the 12th of February, 2017. We were the third branch in Scotland and now have six locations across the country.”
What do you love most about your job?
“The best part of the job is working with our members. Seeing them improve not only physically but mentally and gaining confidence is incredibly rewarding.”
What’s your favorite thing about Clarkston?
“It’s the community. Clarkston has such a strong sense of togetherness, and events like A Very Merry Clarkston Christmas really showcase that spirit.”
What’s been your proudest moment so far?
“Definitely the charity work we’ve done. Last year, we raised £857 for Glasgow’s Children’s Hospital and over £1,100 for SAMARITANS. We’re planning to go even bigger in 2025.”
Any behind-the-scenes stories?
“We’ve recently embraced the Hyrox trend, running specialized group training for functional fitness. It’s been amazing watching our members progress, and now a team from Clarkston is competing in their first Hyrox event!”
Tell us about your work with local businesses.
“We’ve created the ‘Unlock the Southside’ initiative, where we partner with local businesses to offer discounts to our members while supporting them with free marketing in our gym. It’s all about growing the local economy.”
