1. Bid Levy Payments

What is the BID levy?

The BID levy is the main source of funding for I Love Clarkston and is used to deliver the projects and services outlined in the Business Plan.

The levy is charged to all non-domestic properties (business ratepayers - regardless of whether you are exempt from paying these rates) within the BID area that have a rateable value. The levy is compulsory if you own or lease a premises within the BID area.

The levy is calculated using a percentage system, which ensures that contributions are fair and proportionate based on the size of each business. Currently the levy for I Love Clarkston is 2% of a business' rateable value. For full details of the levy and how much your business will be charged, please refer to the Business Plan.

Levy bills are issued annually by East Renfrewshire Council, as required by Scottish Government legislation, which states that local authorities are responsible for collecting the levy on behalf of the BID.

The council has no operational control over the BID and is not involved in its management or decision-making. Like other property owners within the BID area, the Council also pays the levy for any properties it owns that fall within the BID area contributing to the same initiatives that support the local business community.

If you have a question about your BID levy bill, please contact East Renfrewshire Council's Sundry Debts team in the first instance by emailing: sundrydebts@eastrenfrewshire.gov.uk.

If your query isn’t resolved or you require further support, you can contact the BID Manager directly at: info@erbids.com.
